MTB-Route Brunssummerheide (Parkstad)

Permanent, signposted MTB loop run by MTB Club Discovery (since 1992, the oldest of the four Parkstad routes), starting at the Brunssummerheide visitor center: around 19–20 km, 200–340 m of climbing depending on the source, red (difficult), ridden clockwise. Lots of singletrail on sandy forest soil, technical climbs (Rock Trail), a long northshore section around the golf course and tricky descents. Marked with posts showing the MTB symbol (triangle with two circles). Mountain biking is only allowed on the marked route, and this is enforced. Part of the Parkstad network of four loops (76 km and 1,100 m of climbing in total): Brunssummerheide, Strijthagen, Roode Beek and Heerlen.
